Last Thursday, the offices of GESSEL in Warsaw hosted an interesting event organized by WOM&AN, the Association for Women in M&A. The event focused on the success story of Velvet Care, a former portfolio company of Avallon MBO.

A key element of the event was a panel discussion featuring Agnieszka Pakulska of Avallon MBO, Artur Pielak of Velvet CARE, and Tomek Kujawa of Abris Capital Partners. The panellists discussed some of the key moments in Velvet’s history: the spin‑off from a multinational corporation, the acquisition of the company by Avallon MBO, the investment by Abris Capital Partners, and the recent transaction with Partners Group.

The key lesson from this discussion? – It takes good management and hard, diligent work to drive a company’s growth, but it also takes good chemistry between management and investors.

We would like to thank GESSEL for organizing this remarkable event and all the panellists for the stimulating discussion.
