The company, based in Szymanow near Wroclaw, is a producer and distributor of quality pet food for dogs and cats. Its premium brands include Wiejska Zagroda and Pan Miesko, and it also distributes Spanish brands Alpha Spirit and Primal Spirit. In the article, President Skowron talks about the behind‑the-scenes workings of this interesting and fast‑growing market segment in our country.

“There are several reasons for the dynamic growth of the Polish pet food industry. First and foremost, the industry is benefiting from the humanisation of pets. They are treated as family members by their owners, which encourages higher spending. Indirectly, this can be seen in the emergence and rapid growth of the pet insurance market,” explains Marcin Skowron.

Izabela Ciacka, investment manager at Avallon MBO, the very fund responsible for this investment, gave a similar assessment of the state of the pet food market.

“We are becoming more and more concerned about our own health and the health of our pets. We spend more time reading labels and looking for high quality products that contain nutrients that meet the nutritional needs of our pets at every stage of their development, in order, for example, to prevent future health problems or to find products to combat allergies or obesity”, she comments.
